Disclaimer: This photo isn't actually our house, so don't panic. No matter how much I joke about it, we didn't really tear it down!
When we first bought our house 4 years ago, we had lots of plans for it. It's a 5 bedroom, two story brick that was in relatively decent shape. The previous owners had some pretty weird taste (ask me about the nuclear yellow bedroom sometime or the peptobismol pink striped, spotted and flowered wallpaper in the dining room if you need a good laugh). My husband is pretty handy, so he has been doing all the repair work himself. But since he works full time (and engineers work a lot of overtime), his free time to do the work on our house is limited. So for the past 4 years, several rooms have actively been under construction at our house. We're making progress and I'm proud to say we almost have the lower bedrooms and the dining room the way we want them. But it's been a lot of hard work. Some days, I tell my husband we ought to just knock it down and start from scratch. I think it might actually be easier.
